I'm a Principal Platform Engineer. I build and run the platform other engineers ship on: cloud accounts and networking, deployment pipelines, and the infrastructure as code that ties them together.

Background

I came to this from networking and systems administration rather than from software engineering, so I tend to start with how a system actually runs and fails, then work back toward the code.

That path covers about ten years across security and compliance, manufacturing, software development, and DevOps, at nearly every size of company, from AWS, where I was a cloud engineer, to three-person startups.
